It's estimated that 208,000 doses of the H1N1 flu vaccine have been distributed thus far in Nebraska. The state is expected to receive one million doses and officials said Wednesday more is coming.

The government has approved the release of seven-and-a-half million new doses on top of what's already in the pipeline. Manufacturers say from a production standpoint they are on schedule.

Most of the doses have gone to hospitals and doctors' offices so far, but some local health departments have also started offering public vaccination clinics.

Four clinics will be held in the metro area on Thursday. Douglas County will hold its clinic at Benson High School from 4:30-8:30 p.m.

Weeping Water School will be the site of the Sarpy/Cass County clinic from 12:30-6:30 p.m. Students will begin receiving vaccinations starting at 12:30 p.m. The clinic will open to the public at 3 p.m.

Washington County is hosting a clinic at Blair High School from 4-8 p.m. In Pottawattamie County, Iowa, vaccines will be given out at the National Guard Armory in Council Bluffs from 2-6 p.m.
