Fire Chief Come Back
Mike Wilson to fill fire chief’s boots again.
Annual elections for the Plattsmouth Volunteer Fire Department resulted in Wilson elected chief, a position he has held for 4½ of the past 5 years. He caught the mayor and city council off-guard on June 1st when he resigned as chief but then was elected first assistant chief when Bill Dudek officially took over the reins of the department in July.
Dudek had been first assistant chief up until Wilson’s resignation and returns to that second-in-command post in 2010.
Dudek says other factors would have kept him from being able to devote the necessary time so he decided not to run for the chief’s position.
