It was an Apollo mission that sparked Ashland native Clay Anderson's love for space. Now the Houston based astronaut is sharing his passion and thoughts on the future of the space program with an Omaha second grader.
Anderson will be back on the Space Shuttle in the spring for his second stint at the International Space Station. By this time next year the shuttle program is scheduled to end. That will leave American astronauts to catch a ride on Russian rockets to get to the I.S.S. for future missions.
Anderson remains ambitious with his goals for the American space program, "It would be cool to go back to the moon but I think the hay to be made in terms of history would be to go to Mars," said Anderson.
