There is money out there for those looking to buy homes. First-time homebuyers can get an $8,000 tax credit and if you already own a home and have been in it for at least five years, there’s a $6,500 credit if you plan on moving.

People who have homes for sale are spreading the word that now is the time to buy a home. Cindy Andrew with Deeb Reality expects the extension of this tax credit to be good for business. "I think it’s gonna do nothing but help it. We have noticed an increase in business since the $8,000 credit.

Andrea Erickson and her husband have been thinking about buying a home for some time. They were in a hurry trying to beat the tax credit deadline, but news of an extension on the tax credit gives them more time to find the perfect home.

“My husband was really putting pressure on me to have it done by this month because that was the original end date. He said we have to get in on that because it's ending in November."
