Cabela's Inc. has announced plans for not one, but two new facilities in Papillion. The outdoor outfitter will build a state-of-the-art data center and a Technology Development Center.

Governor Dave Heineman, Papillion Mayor David Black, and Cabela's CEO David Millner were among those on hand for the announcement Friday at the Cabela's store in La Vista.

The new facilities will be built in Papillion's Technology Park at 72nd and Cornhusker. Altogether they will create roughly 100 new jobs.

Cabela's Data Center will provide technological support; the Technology Development Center programming and other support for the company's operations, which include the catalog and 30 retail stores in the U.S. and Canada.

The data center is expected to open in January 2011. A date to begin construction of the Technology Development Center has not been set.

The City of Papillon has agreed to make infrastructure improvements and pay closing costs. It expects to make a net profit of roughly $130,000 on the land.
