What does Craigslist have to do with the disappearance of a dog? An Omaha man says it all started there and not only did he lose his dog, he was left without a place to live.

Craigslist has burned Carmen Gasbarro before. “I had actually got a roommate on Craigslist in my old apartment on Craigslist and ran up the bills, skipped out without paying a damn cent."

Carmen went back to Craigslist, this time looking for a place to stay.

“Answered that ad on Craigslist, moved in with this woman and her kid. I started seeing signs she was unstable and she yelled at me for staying all night at my girlfriend’s house. I told her I moved in as a business arrangement, not for a mother figure.”

That's when Carmen’s dog Opal comes into the story. Carmen had more disagreements with his new roommate, so he moved out and now he can’t find his dog. He thinks his ex-roommate got rid of Opal out of spite.

Opal was last seen in the neighborhood of 135th and Grissom on October 30th and his owner is beginning to worry. "The dog means a lot to me and her former owner. She's nine-months-old, beautiful dog, very smart, shepherd husky mix, one blue eye, one brown eye, sweetest dog in the world.”

Now Carmen is posting flyers, hoping someone will find his lost dog and return her. He's also learned a lesson. "I will never use Craigslist again for a roommate.”

Carmen is offering a reward for the return of his dog. If you see Opal, call 201-8430.
