Construction of the new downtown baseball stadium is on schedule and on budget, according to construction company officials.

Local media got a look inside the park Tuesday morning to see the progress on TD Ameritrade Park. While the steel girders going up on the grandstand and the light towers, the dirt work on the field is also in full swing.

Kiewit Construction is the general contractor on the stadium and says about 70 percent of the steel structure is in place.

“It went exactly according to plan,” says Kent Grisham, Kiewit spokesperson. “We've had no surprises with this site. Everything has formed up exactly as we planned.”

Workers will begin to enclose the grandstand in December. The turf for the field won't go in until next August.
