A Lincoln mother has brought a new life into this world. Now she can fight to save her own.
26-year old Alisha Steen suffered a stroke which led to discovery of a tumor. But before starting cancer treatment Alisha had to give birth.
Her daughter “Maddy” ,short for Madeline, was delivered by C-section this morning at Lincoln’s St. Elizabeth Hospital.
Though about seven weeks premature the baby girl weighs five pounds. Dr. Sean Kenney says mom and baby are doing well after the surgery.
Alisha will soon be starting an experimental treatment to fight an advanced stage of melanoma.
