Peggy Watkins takes pride in her home.
"It's home. My husband and I grew up here."
Around 11 this morning, as she pulled weeds from her garden, Watkins saw a few other bad weeds nearby.
"Two young men, apparently school age, kept walking up and down 41st street."
The two teens stopped at a nearby house, but Anthony Williams was watching.
(One of the teens) went to the back of the house and he stood back there for a while," says Williams, "That's when I called police."
The neighborhood at 40th and Newport has changed over the years.
"Just an increase in crime in the 17 years we've lived here," says Watkins.
That means neighbors notice everything. That's why it didn't take long before Angela Longenecker's phone rang.
"I was at work doing what I normally do. My mother-in-law called and said the house was broken into," says Longenecker.
Behind her home, the Longenecker's windows were broken out. That's where the two teens entered the home.
The teens got inside the home but they didn't stay there long. They didn't have to. The teens went straight for the family's two guns and then they headed for the hills behind the home.
Police caught the two nearby.
Both teens were charged with burglary. One of the teens faces minor in possession of a firearm charges.
