A severe thunderstorm watch is in effect for Pawnee and Richardson counties in southeast Nebraska until 3 p.m. Thursday.
Vehicle found upside down in a ditch Friday morning near Plattsmouth.
A school bus driver alerted authorities. Cass County Sheriff Bill Brueggemann responded about 7:30am and found no one in the Ford Ranger. The pickup had been southbound on 6th Street when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it rolled several times about one-half mile south of Highway 66. It was learned later that two individuals had been transported by private vehicle to Midlands Hospital and Midlands said one of the males was injured to the extent he would need treatment at a trauma center.
Further investigation determined that Brandon T. Morland, 19, was driving the vehicle and that Branden A. Anstey, 18, was a passenger, said Brueggemann. Both are from Plattsmouth.
It’s believed the accident occurred at least two hours before being discovered, according to the sheriff’s report. (picture at www.cassgramonline)
