3 Arrested For Robbing Police Informant

Three men are under arrest for allegedly robbing a confidential police informant.

According to police reports, a confidential informant notified officers Thursday that a man wanted to sell him a stolen firearm for $200.

The informant made arrangements with the 19-year-old suspect to conduct the deal near 60th & L at 10PM Thursday night.

Prior to the meeting the informant received a phone call stating “they” wanted to meet at Mandan Park instead. A meeting location near 13th and Harrison was agreed upon.

The three suspects showed up and told the informant to follow them into Mandan Park. The suspects stopped near the north entrance and the informant got inside their car.

The informant was then robbed of his $200 at gunpoint by the three men. He then ran from the car to a nearby police cruiser. Officers then pursued the suspects.

The suspect’s car was eventually stopped at 11th & Spring Lake Blvd.

Police searched the car and the area but did not recover a firearm.

The three suspects were booked for robbery and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
