Omaha police say two people are now dead following a shooting late Tuesday night near 21st and Gilmore in south Omaha.
The victims have been identified as 33-year-old Maria Ojeda and 36-year-old Daniel Lopez.
Officers called to investigate the shooting found a man and woman suffering from gunshot wounds inside a sport utility vehicle. Police say the woman had been shot in the back and the man was shot in the head. Both died at an Omaha hospital.
Police say the vehicle was located near 20th and Monroe, several blocks from where the shooting apparently took place. The vehicle was described as a green 1993 Chevrolet Suburban.
