Angela Manns was arrested July 12, after neighbors complained of a smell and flies coming from inside her home.
Police found the body of her 12-year-old son, Michael, decomposing in the bathtub. Manns is charged with first degree murder.
Both the prosecutor and defense attorney agreed they wanted Manns to undergo a mental evaluation. That evaluation was completed last Tuesday here in Omaha by the Lincoln Regional Center.
Manns was back in court Tuesday morning. Her defense attorney, Gary Olson, asked that another doctor look at her evaluation before the judge makes a decision on whether she is competent to stand trial.
County Attorney Don Kleine says because of that request, it appears the Regional Center found her competent to stand trial.
The judge agreed to push back her competency hearing until November 12. If she is found competent to stand trial, her preliminary hearing will also be held that day.
