A Nebraska Army National Guard brigade is holding town hall meetings in several cities to help prepare families, employers and community leaders for an upcoming mobilization.
A Guard news release says there are about 750 Guardsmen assigned
to the 67th Battlefield Surveillance Brigade, which has subordinate
units spread across Nebraska.
The brigade has set meetings Oct. 22 in Grand Island, Oct. 29 in
Nebraska City, Nov. 5 in North Platte, Nov. 9 in Omaha, Nov. 12 in
Lincoln and Nov. 19 in Hastings.
The brigade commander, Col. Philip Stemple, says he and his aides want to address any concerns early, before an expected call-up next summer.
Exactly where the units would be headed has not been publicly disclosed.
