Shortly after midday on Tuesday, the Douglas County Sheriff's Department released the names of two 18-year-old women involved in an early morning crash.
The department says 18-year-old Andrea M. Farrens was the driver of the car. She died at the scene. Her address is listed as 23 Redwood Lane, Yutan.
A passenger in the car, 18-year-old Autumn N. Wieser is also from Yutan. She was taken to the hospital by helicopter with unknown injuries. At midday Tuesday her condition was not known.
The crash happened on 264th street in western Douglas County about 4:00 a.m. between Dodge and Pacific streets. The road was closed for several hours after emergency crews arrived on the scene.
The investigation indicates that the vehicle, a white, 1994, Buick Skylark, was traveling southbound on 264th Street when it left the roadway, rolled over, and came to a final resting position on the west side of 264th Street.
