A single vehicle crash at the intersection of Edearl Lane and West Military Avenue in Fremont, Nebraska, injures a Fremont Police Officer.
Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, troopers with the Nebraska State Patrol responded to an injury crash involving a Fremont Police cruiser. The driver of the cruiser, Officer Matthew Roby, 28, of Fremont, was responding to a help an Officer call, when he lost control of his vehicle on a curve. The vehicle smashed through a concrete wall at a car wash near the intersection.
Officer Roby was flown by medical helicopter to Creighton Medical Center in Omaha with serious but non-life threatening injuries.
