House Hit And Run Solved

Evonne Wilkinson wondered if deputies could solve the hit and run that caused more than $2,500 damage to her house.

But after Six On Your Side reported the mysterious crash that occurred early last Monday morning the Sarpy County Sheriff's office received a call from a woman admitting she had been the driver.

30 year old Jennifer Marie Lowery turned herself in Friday. She was not the owner of the pickup that deputies located Saturday. The owner says Lowery took the truck without permission.

The owner had been intoxicated and was taken home by somebody else. Lowery insisted on following in the pickup and apparently got lost in a neighborhood.

Deputy Mike Cree believes Lowery got confused and backed up into the garage wall. The pickup owner says she noticed damage to the back end the next day but Lowery would only admit hitting a garage somewhere.

After Six On Your Side aired a story that included a plastic bumper top found in the brick debris, the vehicle owner noticed her bumper top missing. She called Lowery and told her to call the sheriff or she would.

The vehicle owner says she has insurance and even though an acquaintance had taken the truck without permission the owner will do what she can to pay for damage to Wilkinson’s home.
Evonne is relieved to know it was an isolated accident and that she hadn’t been a target.

Lowery is in jail facing a felony criminal mischief charge and two misdemeanors, leaving the scene and driving on a revoked license.
