The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has approved revised water quality standards for Nebraska.
The approved water-quality standards include updated criteria for several pollutants and protection of over 3,200 miles of streams for recreation.
The Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality submitted new and revised Nebraska surface-water quality standards to the EPA for
review. The department is required by law to submit such revisions
at least once every three years.
The EPA released its decision Wednesday.
