It's a lesson students won't find in any textbook and that’s how to be a role model. Members of the Papillion-La Vista South Junior ROTC showed off their rifle routine at Anderson Grove Elementary School on Wednesday. The assembly was part of the kickoff for Titans As Mentors.

The program allows high school students to go back to their own elementary schools and spend time with younger students.

“I think elementary kids always look up to high school kids and we hope that we provide good role models for them to aspire to be like some of the kids in the high schools,” said Jeff Johnson with Papillion-La Vista South High School.

The mentoring program is also being put into place at Carriage Hill Elementary School in Papillion. At their assembly, students got to spend some time with a few Titan football players.
