The Cassgram reports that airbags were deployed in both vehicles in an accident in the Highway 75 and 66/34 intersection on Sunday morning, but neither driver required rescue transport to the hospital. Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann advised that a southbound silver 2002 Toyota Sequoia driven by Joan Schoof, 71, of Papillion was turning left onto Highway 34 and collided with a Dodge Dakota driven by Glenn Butts, 74, of Plattsmouth.
Schoof told deputies that she did not see the other vehicle when she began to turn. Butts did seek medical treatment later for a minor injury.
Deputies responded to another accident in that same general area Monday night about 11:30pm. Reports say a driver told deputies he swerved to miss a coyote in the roadway and rolled his vehicle into the ditch near Osage Ranch. Rescue transport was not required.
