June retail sales vary in Southeast Nebraska.
Cass County’s retail sales trend fared better than neighboring counties and the state as a whole for the second month in a row.
The Nebraska Department of Revenue`s Net Taxable Sales Report, comparing June 2009 to June 2008, has Cass County with a 2.8% sales increase to $10,249,010. In the Plattsmouth city limits, June sales were 1.1% lower at $4,848,762. (The May ‘09 report had Cass County with a 1.9% sales decrease and Plattsmouth with an 8.2% decrease.)
Statewide, June 2009 taxable sales were 3.4% lower than the previous year.
