A 36-year-old Beatrice man has been given 14-to-30 years in prison for sexually assaulting two children in 2007.

Lamont Hornbeak was sentenced in Gage County District Court. He had been convicted of two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree sexual assault.

Authorities say Hornbeak assaulted two sisters, ages 8 and 10, in March 2007.

Hornbeak had originally been charged with two counts of first-degree sexual assault of a child, which could have brought him a sentence of 50 years on each count.
