$500,000 Worth of Meth Seized in I-80 Traffic Stop

Two California men are jailed in Seward County after a traffic stop on Interstate 80 near the Utica exit led to the seizure 17.5 lbs of methamphetamine with an estimated street value of $554,000.

Just after noon on Monday, October 15t, a trooper stopped a westbound 2006 Nissan Armada for following too close on I-80 one mile west of the Utica Interchange.

The trooper was given consent to search the vehicle. A search led to the seizure of 12 packages of methamphetamine. The drugs weighing 17.5 lbs were located in a spare tire.

The driver of the vehicle, Fausto Jacques Jr., 43, Chula Vista, Calif., and a passenger in the vehicle, Francisco Frias-Felix, 60, San Ysidro, Calif., were both lodged in the Seward County Jail, each on a charge of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.
