Gov. Dave Heineman has declared October State College System Month in Nebraska.
Heineman made the announcement last week along with Nebraska
State College System Associate Vice Chancellor Sheri Irwin-Gish.
Irwin-Gish announced opportunities to be offered at Chadron,
Peru and Wayne State Colleges to make college more accessible.
The NSCS Advantage Program will guarantee first-time freshman
who receive federal Pell Grants will pay no tuition while attending
any of the three colleges.
Representatives of the three colleges will visit high schools
next month to assist students who want to apply to one or more of
the colleges.
And students who visit any of the three campuses will be
eligible for bookstore gift certificates.
