Three Nebraska schools are being recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as Blue Ribbon schools.
The winning schools in Nebraska are Chandler View Elementary in Omaha, Red Cloud Elementary in Red Cloud and Stuart Public School in Stuart. They are among 264 public and 50 private schools nationwide being honored.
The Blue Ribbon award honors public and private schools that are academically superior, made dramatic gains in student achievement or helped close gaps in achievement between minority or disadvantaged children and their peers.
Nebraska Education Commissioner Roger Breed says he applauds the success of the three Nebraska schools.
