The youngsters at the YMCA in Valley could not believe their luck Tuesday night. They rode around in the school bus without a driver.
"I didn't think he could but he did," says student Elia Ambriz.
Bill Kazmaier is a guest at the Twin Rivers YMCA in Valley. He comes with a powerful message. "There are two words that are close together but don't mean anything alike. Selfish and selfless. Selfish because some people only want to do things for themselves. And selfless are kind to others because that goes a long way -- people treat you the way you treat them."
"Kaz" as he's known is 55. He earned his title when he was 26. "I will always be the World's Strongest Man, even if it's not current."
World's Strongest Man three times in a row beginning in 1980. Now he tours the country teaming up with YMCA's to encourage young people to stay active and healthy. "America is really in trouble. This is the first time in history where children aren't expected to outlive their parents."
If there's any doubt whether he's the world's strongest man bring in a 25,000 pound school bus. And don't forget to let the youngsters take part by riding in the bus adding another five-thousand pounds.
Meghan Bonacci: "We were saying 'Hi!' to everyone and it was cool." Cassie Tech: "Then we started moving and we sat down."
With the sort of help by the YMCA's COO Linda Butkus, the World's Strongest Man did what he always does. He easily pulled the bus more than a hundred feet.
Elia Ambriz: "It's really cool he could pull the bus and is the strongest in the world."
So is this something the youngsters will try when they grow up?
Jessica Bonacci: "No way! It's like 100 lbs or more."
The bus that was pulled is the same bus many of the children ride to Douglas County West school.
