Crash leads to arrest.
The Cassgram reports that Cass County Sheriff’s deputies and fire and rescue personnel from Greenwood and Ashland responded to Horseshoe Lake just after noon Saturday.
Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann says 40-year-old Richard G. Pointer of Ashland was eastbound “at a high rate of speed” on Plattevale Road when his 2005 F-150 struck an about-to-be-westbound 2004 Dodge Durango.
The driver of the Durango, 50-year-old Raymond Bogacki of Bellevue was not seriously injured but a passenger in his vehicle, 60-year-old Cathy Huse of Omaha was taken to Lakeside Hospital with possible chest and rib injuries, said Brueggemann.
Pointer became combative with fire and rescue personnel as well as the deputies on scene, said Brueggemann. Pointer was booked into the Cass County Jail on suspicion of DUI, interfering with a fireman and resisting arrest. He may face other charges once the county attorney’s office has reviewed reports. The incident is still under investigation.
