Nebraska Dove Season Underway

The unofficial start of the fall hunting season in Nebraska is Tuesday, which is the opening day for dove shooting.

The dove-hunting season ends Oct. 30 and hunters are restricted to a daily-bag limit of 15 birds.

Dove hunters must have a Nebraska hunting license and habitat stamp, but a federal-migratory stamp is not required.

Doves can often be found near water in the evenings. They often feed on sunflowers, millet and wheat.

Two more bird-hunting seasons -- the early teal and early Canada goose seasons -- begin on Saturday.
