A former Otoe County Deputy District Court Clerk has pleaded no contest to one count of theft. Last March, the Nebraska state auditor discovered $28,000 went missing from in the Otoe County District Court between January 2007 and January 2009.
His investigation led to Teresa White. She will be sentenced December 21st for a class III felony, which carries a penalty of 1-20 years in jail and a find of up to $25,000.
During the investigation, the state auditor discovered $23,000 in cash and $5,000 in checks that were never cashed was missing.
