Severe, wet weather pelted the Omaha Metro area Friday morning leaving a messy start to the weekend in its wake.
From wet roads to lightning strikes and flooding, it was a mixed bag of dangerous conditions.
A few cars in the area of 31st and Farnam stalled in high water due to the heavy rains that traveled around the area since early Friday morning. That caused 31st Street to be closed and traffic detoured.
Several calls about lightning strikes were called in early Friday morning. None were serious but affected houses from N. 42nd Street to Englewood and Franklin Streets.
