Channel 6 Sports Director Dave Webber announced Thursday night in the station's 10 p.m. news that in the near future he will be working part-time for the station. Webber told his on-air colleagues and the viewers at home that he would be 65-years-old at the end of August, and that he felt it was an appropriate time to step back from the daily grind.
Webber is one of Omaha's most well-known and well-liked TV personalities. Across his 32-year career, besides reporting and anchoring the sports coverage on Channel 6, he has been Master of Ceremonies or keynote speaker or contest judge or special guest at so many community events it is impossible to count them all.

In his new capacity, Dave will continue to cover Husker Football and he'll continue his award-winning coverage of High School football, Friday Night Fever, for Channel 6. He will also be back with coverage of other major sports events through the rest of the year.
Dave's friend and longtime co-worker, Ross Jernstrom, will assume the duties of full-time Sports Director.
