CNN founder and philanthropist Ted Turner will speak at Midland Lutheran College's convocation ceremony later this month.
These days, Turner invests most of his time to his three foundations working to protect the environment, stabilize the world's population and stop the spread of nuclear weapons.
He's invested $1.5 billion of his own fortune to solving those problems.
Midland Lutheran President Stephen Fritz says Turner seemed like the perfect speaker to address the college's theme for the coming school year of "Imagining the Other" because of his humanitarian work.
The speech will be on at 11 a.m. Aug. 21.
Besides philanthropy, Turner also owns roughly 2 million acres of U.S. ranchland and a chain of more than 50 Ted's Montana Grill restaurants.
