Honda Motors is recalling thousands of vehicles due to a potentially deadly airbag defect.
The automotive company says a faulty airbag inflator could rupture from too much air pressure and send pieces of metal shooting through the driver's side airbag, possibly striking passengers.
One death and several injuries are being blamed on the defect.
It includes certain models of the:
-2001/2002 Honda Accord
-2001 Honda Civic
--2002/2003 Acura TL Sedan
The carmaker said it would contact customers and arrange for the airbag to be replaced free of charge
