Treasured objects held by the Cass County Historical Society will be preserved for future generations with help from the IMLS Connecting to Collections Bookshelf, a core set of conservation books and online resources donated by the Institute of Museum and Library Services (IMLS).
The Cassgram reports that IMLS has now awarded almost 3,000 free sets of the IMLS Bookshelf, in cooperation with the American Association for State and Local History.
Margo Prentiss, curator of the Cass County Museum, said the resources will be helpful in educating the public about collections care, in planning for proper storage facilities, and in providing information about preserving the museum’s collection which includes large groups of photographs and historic documents.
