Three young adults from the same family were killed in Sunday’s car/train collision southeast of Waco, Nebraska.
Twenty-year-old Thomas Ihde, his 18-year-old sister Chelsea Ihde and their 20-year-old cousin Michael Cole were from Gresham, Nebraska. A fourth person in the car, 15-year-old Shane Jones of York, remains hospitalized with injuries.
The York County Attorney's Office said the car was traveling south on a road between York and Waco just after 8 a.m. when it struck a train going west a half-mile south of U.S. Highway 34.
There is a Burlington Northern rail line that runs near where Highway 34 intersects with Highway 69.
