Jermaine Bell has seen the kids in his north Omaha neighborhood grow up and doesn't like what he sees. He cuts hair at a fixture in the community, Goodwin's Spencer St. Barber Shop. Last week they were targeted by thieves.
Joseph Foster was arrested after police say they witnessed him running from Goodwin's after midnight carrying a television. He ditched the TV and was caught two blocks away.
Bell wasn't surprised when he heard about the burglary, "No one is safe anymore. It doesn't matter who the proprietor is or how much history a place has, people really don't care anymore."
Bell is now equipped with clippers, scissors and a pistol while in the barber shop. "You just never know what's going to happen anymore," said Bell adding, "Police are doing their best but it all starts at home."
