The public will get an opportunity to try kayaking at the Willow Lake Recreation Area near Woodbine, Iowa on Saturday July 11. The Kayaking event will run from 9:00a.m. until noon.

After a quick instruction of the basics, participants will take a guided paddle around Willow Lake with a naturalist. Participants will be required to wear a life jacket and must be at least 12 years old.

A liability waiver must also be signed by all participants and minors under age 18 must have a signature of a parent or guardian. There is no cost.

Since there is a limited amount of kayaks and time, those interested can pre-register by calling the Harrison County Conservation Board at 712- 647-2785 ext. 12 beginning July 6th. Walk-ins are also welcome.
