The YMCA of Greater Omaha has recently received an anonymous award for $50,000, which will be used to provide free YMCA memberships to families with children who are living at or below the 200% Federal Poverty Guidelines.
The memberships are for the Butler-Gast, Downtown and South YMCA locations only.
“The Y has always made its facilities and programs available to all—regardless of their ability to pay. But, this generous gift allows us to help considerably more children and families and extend our reach.” says Len Romano, YMCA of Greater Omaha President and CEO. “We are fortunate to have a supporter that sees the great need in north, downtown and south Omaha and believes in the YMCA mission. Everyone should have the opportunity to experience the Y!”
Membership benefits include full access to health and wellness centers, gymnasiums, and pools, a variety of group exercise classes, access to the Get Started Program, drop-in childcare while you workout, family and community events, and reduced rates for programs.
At the Butler-Gast YMCA location, free swim lessons are included with a family membership.
The YMCA of Greater Omaha, a non-profit organization, makes life changing impact to the children, adults and families they serve through programs that focus on three key areas: youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The Y has 10 locations in the Omaha, Valley, Glenwood and Council Bluffs area.
To apply for a membership, please visit the Butler-Gast, Downtown or South YMCAs.
