State health officials said a Pennsylvania girl who was among 2,400 people attending an international festival in Nebraska has swine flu.

Test results released Wednesday confirmed the girl, who is between the ages of 5 and 18, has the virus. She has since recovered.

No other details were immediately released.

The International Thespian Festival, held last week on the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus, ended Saturday.

Test results show five others attending the festival had probable cases, said Tim Timmons, communicable disease program supervisor with the Lincoln-Lancaster County Health Department. All five had recovered or were well on their way by Sunday, he said.

The virus, also known as H1N1, can cause a high fever, body aches, coughing, a sore throat, respiratory congestion, and, in some cases, vomiting and diarrhea.

Among Nebraska residents, 136 cases have been confirmed as of Wednesday, said Marla Augustine, a spokeswoman with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services.

Test results show 12 other cases are probable, she said.
