Delta Airlines will soon end daily flights from the Lincoln Airport to Atlanta and Salt Lake City. Service to both cities started June 4th.

Lincoln Airport Executive Director John Wood said Delta told the airport they'd end the flights September 1st. Wood said the flights didn't attract enough passengers to give the airline enough confidence to continue.

Wood said the Salt Lake City flight has averaged 44-percent full, the Atlanta flight averaged 68-percent full.

"It took a lot of work to get Delta to institute the service and we had high hopes for its success," Wood said. "It is very disappointing that passenger response has not been sufficient enough to encourage Delta to continue the services."
