A Nebraska sailor has died during his support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Command Master Chief Jeffrey Garber, 43 of Hemingford, died Saturday as a result of noncombat causes while aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower in the north Arabian Sea.

Hemingford is located in western Nebraska near Alliance.

The Department of Defense says the incident is under investigation.
