Farmers in southeast Nebraska are assessing crop damage caused by a hail storm. Farm Service Agency officials say about 10,000 acres of corn and soybeans were damaged in Fillmore County Monday night.

Officials say two narrow bands of hail stripped crops while neighboring fields were untouched.

Fillmore County FSA Executive Director Ryne Norton says the extent of the damage won't be known for several weeks, but he says farmers should be talking to their crop insurers in case the crops don't rebound.
