Entry into a residence in the 800 block of Klein Road (south of Murray) was made by unknown person(s) by shattering a glass patio door, said Cass County Sheriff Wm. C. Brueggemann.
The Cassgram reports that the residence was ransacked and items taken. Deputies were called to investigate about 4pm Tuesday.
Missing from the residence are several rifles and shotguns, personal papers, a Sony Play Station and games, change, medications, and possibly an undetermined amount of jewelry.
Evidence indicates the person(s) responsible may have been scared away from the scene as several canvas bags with stolen items were recovered a short distance from the residence.
The scene was processed for evidence by sheriff’s investigators and deputies. The investigation is continuing.
The sheriff’s department is asking for any help from area residents or motorists who may have observed a suspicious vehicle in that part of the county on Tuesday.
