A typical letter dropped off at the Post Office will now cost you an extra two cents.
Starting Monday, the postal service is raising the price of first class mail stamps from $0.42 to $0.44.
This is the third year in a row rates have gone up under a new system allowing annual increases as long as they don't exceed the rate of inflation.
Prices for other services, like standard mail, periodicals, package and extra services will change too.
Express and Priority mail rates will not change.
