A valuable but dangerous collection is missing.
17 military type guns have been stolen in a break-in at a LaVista home. The weapons ranging from 1930 to 1964 vintage, belonged to a man who passed away.
Before relatives could move the gun collection from the man’s home someone broke in and took them. LaVista detective T. J. Jacik says, “The guns still shoot, there is ammo still available for them, they are various calibers and in the wrong hands they can be extremely dangerous because quite a few are sniper rifles.”
The detective wants to question the man’s granddaughter but has been unable to locate her.
Anyone with information on where to find Rebecca Kienow should call LaVista police at 331-1582.
