Prison After Mentally Disabled Teen Sexually Assaulted

A 21-year-old Lincoln man who had sex with a mentally disabled teenager has been given three-to-five years in prison. Rashaun Frohman had pleaded no contest to charges of felony child abuse and misdemeanor sex assault.

Lincoln police say Frohman and a 17-year-old girl had consensual sex in his apartment after meeting on a street corner in April 2008.

Authorities say the girl functions at a second-grade level and is vulnerable to exploitation. Frohman's attorney says Frohman is mildly disabled intellectually and had no way of knowing that girl was legally unable to give her consent.
