An Omaha institute for labor studies will mark International Workers' Day on Friday with a discussion of workers' rights and the need for economic justice.

The day is observed around the industrialized world and is dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of organized labor.

The University of Nebraska at Omaha's William Brennan Institute for Labor Studies will host the discussion that's set for 2 p.m. in the university's student center.

Anyone is welcome to attend.

A Honduran woman who has worked in a sweatshop and a representative from a national student group working to end sweatshops and other labor abuses are among the scheduled participants.
