An independent film that promotes autism awareness will be screened in three Nebraska cities this week.

The lead character of "If You Could Say It In Words" has Asperger's syndrome, a type of autism that impairs social function. The film follows his unlikely romance.

Screenings will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday at the University of Nebraska at Omaha, 7 p.m. Friday at the Bourbon Theater in Lincoln and 2 p.m. Saturday at The Eagle Club in Bellevue.

A panel discussion with the director and lead actor will follow each showing.

In honor of National Autism Awareness Month, the screenings are free to the public.
