A 62-year-old Omaha woman has been sentenced to two years in prison and ordered to pay more than $786,000 in restitution.

Federal prosecutors say Caroline Domanski was vice president of accounting when she embezzled about $1.4 million from First Nebraska Educators and Employees Group Credit Union.

Investigators say the theft occurred over a 15-year period starting in 1993.

Court documents say Domanski created fake entries into various ledger accounts and made cash withdrawals from bank accounts and from the union's vault.

In exchange for pleading guilty to bank fraud, prosecutors dropped another charge.

Domanski is ordered to serve four years supervised release following the prison sentence.
