Prison Sentence For Fleeing Burglar

A year in the Nebraska Department of Corrections was given to a 19-year-old Murray man Monday.

Christopher L. McDaniel received concurrent one year sentences on two felony counts.

The Cassgram reports that one conviction stemmed from a burglary incident last year and the other conviction was for failure to appear for the burglary sentencing.

The burglary occurred last October and McDaniel was to be sentenced for the Class III Felony on February 2nd but failed to appear in Cass County District Court. He was arrested a few days later when a sheriff’s deputy stopped a car on Highway 75 south of Plattsmouth and McDaniel, a passenger, was caught following a foot pursuit. Another charge in connection with that incident is in Cass County Court. Deputy Cass County Attorney Steve Sunde said McDaniel also has court action pending on a felony in Iowa.

McDaniel was given credit for 75 days served—40 days last fall and 35 days this year
